# Rundown software for broadcast

A rundown is the timed list of segments for a broadcast, a studio show or a livestream: each item, how long it runs, when it starts and ends, and who is on it. ShowRun is that rundown in the browser. Change a duration and the later start and end times move.

Broadcast, studio and livestream crews say rundown. Stage, corporate and awards crews say run of show. In ShowDocLive they are the same sheet. The stage wording is at https://showdoclive.com/run-of-show.md

Columns: cue, start, duration, end, description, notes, responsible, private notes, plus columns you add. A bare duration is minutes: 6 is six minutes, 0.5 is thirty seconds. A show can cover more than one day.

Excel and CSV import maps headers such as Segment, Hit time, On air, TRT, Talent and Producer notes by itself. Any other column can be added, mapped onto one you already have, or ignored. If the clocks in the file do not agree with the durations, you choose whether to keep the clocks or keep the lengths. Export back to Excel or CSV. Replacing the rows keeps the crew share link.

This is the timing rundown. Scripts, a prompter and video playout stay in the systems a broadcaster already uses for those jobs. Clocks run forward from the planned start plus each duration. The sheet does not count backward from a hard out.

The crew link follows the live rundown. Private notes, including a column imported as Producer notes, stay off that page. The person calling the show still sees them.

ShowRun is not on the free plan. It is included in Pro at £8 a month and Team at £5 per user a month (minimum 2). The voice agent, text agent, cell dictation and Format & Tidy use AI credits. The rundown, the clocks and the crew link do not. Pro includes 1,000,000 credits a month. If credits run out, calling the show continues.
